AI Learning Plan for Testers
Testers keep asking me this wherever I go and visit. The industry is going through a tech divide, and people want to upskill and re-pivot their career and skills towards AI. This is a great thing. I am creating this guide for those who want to do it. It will be crisp, and actionable.

Structured Courses
Start with number one. If you want to revise basics. This is essential and a 101 on this subject. Two and three take you into vibe testing, AI tools, agents, and MCP servers.

Learning Webinars & Communities
MoT does a lot of Free Events for AI in Testing. As the time moves ahead, this will help you stay up to date with the things. Slack is where you will find people who are actually doing the work, not just talking about it. This will help you to find AI peers and accelerate your learning.

AI Licenses
1. A coding tool license. Get at least one coding tool license. Pro is good. You will not need the MAX or TEAM plan to go deep or hands on in AI. My recommendation is Claude Code. But you can also go for Codex. Some people say, Cursor is also good but I haven’t tried it. This is where you may have to invest some money. I recommend buying your own personal license and not just relying on what your org will give you.
2. ChatGPT or Gemini — Pro. They are good if you like image editing, infographics, and other creative non-code work. They also keep coming with new features and micro enhancements. You can get a pro version too. I personally use a Pro version of both.

AI Skills (Agent Skills)
If you can master these 4 skills you are good to go ahead and you will be able to find your next level path.
→ Open the SKILL.md before you install any of them. A skill is a set of instructions your agent will follow, so read it like you would read any other input to a system you own.
