This is my secret to learning. I’m making it public now.
People ask me how I learn new things quickly and retain them.
The truth? It’s not magic. It’s motion.
Here’s the breakdown:
🟢 Active experiences move into memory faster.
- Creating a presentation
- Doing a hands-on activity
- Writing personal notes
🔴 Passive experiences slide into the drain.
- Just reading
- Just listening
The formula is simple: The more active you are, the better you learn.
When I learn, I stay in motion by:
✍️ Taking notes
🧠 Summarizing concepts
💬 Helping others understand
🙋♂️ Volunteering for practice tasks
That effort sticks. It cements learning.
Books and courses are great—but only if you turn consumption into creation.
Otherwise? You’re just pouring knowledge into a leaky bucket.
If you want to apply your learnings, check out my portfolio for various ideas of creation: Rahul’s Testing Titbits – Testing Insights & Resources
Also, I would recommend you check out the Ministry of Testing as they provide great creation options and learning options. It’s one platform that stands out: Where software testers, QA ,and quality engineers build their careers | Ministry of Testing
All the best!
