Hackathons carry a pulse. Not the calm heartbeat of routine work but the thrum of ideas colliding under pressure. Timed. Tense. Exciting. I signed up for the UiPath AI-Driven No-Code Test Automation Hackathon powered by The Test Tribe with a desire to build, learn, and maybe spark something new.
And something did spark at #UiPathHackathonWithTTT.
The event ran on April 26th and 27th. UiPath, always nudging the edge of automation, designed it for people like me: testers, tinkerers, explorers. The twist? No traditional code. Just AI and visual tools, woven together.
Let me take you there. Let me show you what happened, what I built, what I learned, and why this wasn’t just another competition.
What do hackathons for testers ask for really?
Think of it as a playground, not a battlefield.
The goal? Use UiPath’s no-code tools to automate testing in smart, creative ways. Participants had two days. Access to UiPath Test Suite. Guidance from mentors.
A community buzzing with ideas. And one ask, i.e. combine AI with testing in ways that work.
No pressure. Just possibility.
And I love working inside a time box. There’s magic in constraints. They sharpen focus. They push you into the flow.

Why did I participate?
This wasn’t my first hackathon, but it felt different. New terrain. I didn’t know if I’d “win.” I didn’t care. I joined because I was curious.
Curious about AI. Curious about the no-code. Curious if these tools could shift how we think about testing.
What I learned?
There’s a quiet power in working with such platforms. You stop obsessing over syntax and start thinking about behavior. Intent.
I learned that:
- You can design tests from clarity, not code.
- Clear behavior descriptions guide AI better than vague instructions.
- Visual workflows unlock new ways of thinking.
I saw testing not just as a task but as a creative expression. UiPath is a great platform that can help bring ideas into reality.

My take on AI in Testing
Let’s be honest. Testers often ask this a lot: Can AI actually help with testing?
After this, my answer is yes!
AI won’t replace your brain. But it will extend your thinking. It can help you:
- Generate test ideas faster.
- Help visualize flows.
- Cut the grind from repetitive runs.
But it needs guidance. You. Your logic. Your clarity.
And for beginners? That’s a gift. You don’t need to master every testing framework. You need to think well.
Should You Try a Hackathon?
Let me flip the question. Are you curious? Good. That’s enough.
You might worry: I don’t know the tool. I might not finish. Others are better. All valid. All familiar.
But once you start? Those thoughts fade. You focus. You create. You learn. Here’s what a hackathon gives you:
- A deadline.
- A goal.
- A sandbox to explore.
- A tribe of learners.
